Bei der Premiere des Films "Von der Elbe an den Rhein" über eine Konzertreise des berühmten Dresdener Schlagzeugers Günter Baby Sommer an den Niederrhein spielte das neu gegründete Apfelhof Trio mit Baby Sommer, Achim Tang und Markus Türk im September 2023 vier Konzerte. Eine Fortführung der Zusammenarbeit ist geplant.
Das von mir initiierte und geleitete Big Band - Projekt des Luise-von-Duesberg Gymnasiums in Kempen wurde 2022 vom Westdeutschen Rundfunk mit dem WDR - Jazzpreis in der Kategorie Nachwuchs ausgezeichnet. Die Verleihung des Preises fand am 18.06.2022 im Rahmen eines Preisträgerkonzertes im Theater Gütersloh statt.
Am 15.05.2021 erschien meine Solo CD "türk" auf Umland Records (https://umlandrecords.de) und kann dort oder direkt bei mir bestellt werden. Im Sommer wurde sie auch als Vinyl veröffentlicht.

It’s a rough mixture of jazz, rock, world, pop and Blasmusik.

Markus Türk ist Dorftrompeter im doppelten Sinn.
Zum einen lebt er in einem kleinen Dorf am linken Niederrhein, wo er bereits mit neun Jahren in der örtlichen Blaskapelle spielte, zum anderen ist er seit 2007 Mitglied des Ruhrgebiet Band-Konglomerats The Dorf.
Er war als Trompeter, Gitarrist und Bassist von Family Five seit 1983 Teil der Düsseldorfer Punkszene, spielte live und auf Platte bei zahlreichen Jazz, Rock, Latin, Ambient, Soul, Theater- etc. Bands und Projekten, ist Bassist und Trompeter der Krefelder Schrägpop - Kapelle Jansen und teilt sich seit 25 Jahren das Volkslieder-Jazz-Kabarett-Duo Furiosef mit Manfred Heinen.
Jetzt hat er auch noch eine Soloplatte gemacht, bei der er alle Instrumente selber spielt.
Sie heißt „türk“, wurde von Markus Maria Jansen produziert und wird natürlich auf dem Umland - Label veröffentlicht, und zwar am 15. Mai 2021.
Markus Türk is a village musician in a double sense.
On the one hand he is living in a small village at the lower Rhine area where he played the trumpet in the local brass band since he was nine years, on the other hand he is part of the band - collective „The Dorf“ (which means „the village“) since 2007.
As trumpet-, bass- and guitar player of „Family Five“ he was part of the Duesseldorf punk scene since 1983, played and recorded with countless jazz, rock, soul, ambient, latin, theater- and so on projects and groups, is trumpetplayer and bassman of the Krefeld - based band Jansen and has his own folk-jazz-cabaret-duo with Manfred Heinen since 25 years.
Finally he has recorded a solo-CD, playing all instruments by himself, produced by Markus Maria Jansen.
